Dear Friends in Christ,

The media are full of ways we can respond to the devastation caused by the Tsunami. Here are three links to the Church World Service web site for immediate faith-based actions.  The first indicates what is needed for the tens of thousands of health kits being distributed in the region.  The second is for a hymn which brings the Tsunami into worship.  The third is for a bulletin insert.

The PC(USA) also offers a variety of kit ideas for use by Church World Service.  Check out http://www.pcusa.org/pda/help/goh.htm.  To keep up with PC(USA) relief efforts, you may check out http://www.pcusa.org/.

The NCP Disaster Assistance Team is trying to determine if our congregations have enough interest in preparing health kits to warrant a coordinated shipping effort to the Church World Service warehouse 601 Main Street, New Windsor, MD.  You may indicate your interest by contacting Merritt Schatz at Georgetown (schatzm@comcast.net or mschatz@gtownpres.org).

Funds contributed on-line (www.thepresbytery.org) or by check are being put to work virtually immediately as the Presbyterian Disaster Assistance Program joins with 35 other denominations through Church World Service to bring help, hope, and love in what seems to be a people who seem to have lost it all.

Our prayer support for the survivors and those ministering to them continues to be a wonderful gift we can offer every minute of every day.

Shalom.
