An Outline of Steps for Calling a New Pastor
(from the National Capital Presbytery's Handbook for Pastor Nominating Comittees and
Sessions of Churches Seeking Pastors 1. Pastor leaves
2. The PNC is elected
3. The PNC begins its work
4. PNC completes the CIF (Church Information Form)
5. PNC identifies and interviews promising candidates
6. PNC selects a final candidate
7. The call is approved by COM (Presbytery's Committee on Ministry)
8. The call is approved by the congregation
9. The call is approved by the Committee on Ministry, acting on behalf of the Presbytery,
and the candidate received
10. The new pastor is installed |
