| The Session at St. Andrew Presbyterian
Church is charged with maintaining the spiritual government of the
congregation. The Session has authority over all of the affairs and
activities of the church, except for those that are specifically
accorded by the church’s government to the Pastor, congregation, or to
a higher governing body.
The Session has the power to make and amend rules and regulations allowed by the by-laws to enable it to perform effectively and duties for which it is responsible. These rules and regulations may be adopted, amended or rescinded at any meeting of the Session by a two-thirds vote of the Session. The Session may establish and/or discontinue Ministries and Special Committees as it deems appropriate. The Clerk of the Session is an Elder elected by the Session. The Session consists of twelve elders, chosen by the members of St. Andrew church, and the Pastor, who serves as Moderator of the Session. All members including the Pastor are entitled to vote. |
