Stewardship & Finance Committee
Emphasize the total commitment to Jesus Christ as the fundamental guideline to Christian Stewardship.

Membership

Two elders, one deacon, one trustee, one at-large member from the Memorial & Special Gifts Committee, the Treasurer, one other at-large member from the congregation.

Responsibilities

1. Lead members to deeper levels of stewardship of time, talent, and material resources through diverse and creative means, encouraging members to make systematic and proportionate offerings to the work of the church.

2. Regularly review the funding for the ministries of the Session, Board of Deacons, and Board of Trustees, and inform the church membership, at least quarterly, of the status of its support of the church’s mission through the budget.

3. Oversee all investments of the church to maximize return and safety of funds and insure availability of funds when needed.

4. Regularly review the financial statements and make monthly financial reports available to the Session.

5. Recommend to the Session budgetary changes to support the church’s mission.

6 Provide input to the annual church budget.

7. Prepare the annual church budget, consistent with the goals and objectives set forth in the church’s long range planning. Inform the membership of the projected stewardship needs of the church and lead the annual stewardship campaign.

8. Coordinate the work of the Treasurer and any Assistant Treasurers

9. Coordinate the Treasurer, and any Assistant Treasurers, and a member of the Stewardship Committee to do an annual review of the financial books of the church, to be completed no later than September 1st of the subsequent year.

10. Make any proposals related to fund-raising activities to the Session.
