St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, in partnership with the Loudoun Hunger Relief, are distributing food to those in need in our local community. And we need your help!

On the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month:

  • At 1 PM, minimum of one person to pick up produce from LHR and deliver to the narthex of St. Andrew for repackaging. The produce comes in boxes that weigh up to 50 lbs. so extra hands are helpful.
  • Between 1:30 – 4 PM, approximately, which can be adjusted if there are children who would like to help and a family needs to start a bit later, between 2 to 4 people are needed to fill 60 bags, available at SAPC, with a compliment of the different items provided, generally potatoes, onions, another vegetable, and a fruit.

On the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month:

  • Volunteers are needed to help distribute food at the Main Street Common Apartment Complex, which is located at 119 North 16th Street in Purcellville.
  • 1:30 – 3 PM, approximately, up to 5 people will pick up the bagged produce from SAPC, and transport to the apartment complex. Loudoun Hunger Relief will be present with their truck that will bring additional food: milk, eggs, meat, etc. which will be distributed along with the produce.
  • Each family will be logged in to LHR as they prepare to collect their food, and then will proceed to the area where the food will be waiting. Occasionally, one person will collect food for two families if this is authorized by the LHR staff.
  • Many of the residents speak Spanish only, so Spanish skills are helpful, but not mandatory.

Current COVID-19 guidelines of mask wearing and social distancing will be practiced.

Many thanks for assistance with this project during this time of severe food insecurity for so many.
