Jesus said: “As you did it to the least of these you did to me.” – Matthew 25: 40
Becoming a Matthew 25 congregation is our Lenten small group theme for 2021. In that chapter, Jesus tells three parables or stories about what he expects of his followers. It all ends with him saying, “as you did it to the least of these my brothers and sisters, you did it for me.”
Nationally, Presbyterians are encouraged to read this Gospel chapter so that we can deepen our sense of discipleship as that we renew vitality within our congregation, especially by breaking down barriers and connecting with those who are hungry, imprisoned, sick or alone.
As we arrange small group gatherings during the six weeks of Lent, we not only share what we might learn from this challenging chapter, but also find ways to practice our faith through projects that promise to stretch us.
Studies will begin on February 21. The sign-up for participation follows:
Please contact Clark Seipt, or Pastor Dave, for more information on participating.
